My new host family & Elective Classes (井上)
Two weeks ago, which was the last day which I spent with host family, I gave them Origami which I folded and a letter which I wrote with gratitude. I was so happy that they decorated them on the shelf.
Last week, I moved into the second host family. I’ll introduce my new host family. This family has a mother and two daughters. One of my host sisters is Madison. She is called Maddy by her friends. She is in year 10 as I am. And the other younger host sister is Imogen, who is in Year7.
They go to dance lessons every Friday and Saturday. So they’re busy. This family has two small cats whose names are Amy and Smoggy, and one dog whose name is Peppa, which are friendly, naughty, playful.
Now I’m looking forward to staying with them for the last two weeks.
The other day, Mrs. Steven, who is a Japanese teacher at Brigidine College, suggested to me that I should take French lessons?
And then I’ve taken French class in year 8 now. This is the first time for me to learn it. I think this would be a great experience because I can’t learn French at Otsuma-tama. I feel it’s difficult to pronounce French words. But it’s not stressful because I really enjoy learning it here.
At this school, we are allowed to select two subjects as elective ones. The subjects which we can select are Japanese, French, drama, dance fusion, music, food studies, IT, and art. Brigidine College has three times as much elective subjects as Otsuma-tama. So I’ve taken the classes that can be selected only here.
I’ll take the examination of Math and Dance Fusion.
In Dance Fusion, I’ve been learning about partner’s dance. Sometimes we watch short dance movies to learn skills of dance and a variety of expressions. At the end of every lessons, we perform the dance which we make together.
I’ll make a dance by ourselves to take a dance assessment.
We can choose songs which we like and we decided to use “PART OF ME” by Katy Perry.
My partner edited the song to be short and now we start making our dance.
When I make the dance with my partner, we have to discuss a lot. So I sometimes struggle when I can’t say what I want to say.
I can’t believe that I can stay here about only for more two weeks.
I’ll make as many friends as possible here and enjoy my stay in Australia till the last.
